I have recently had problems with a graphics card that led to my having to make alterations in the BIOS setup. Since then, I am unable to use my scanner through my parralel port. Every time I try to access the scanner through ANY imaging software, I'm told "SCANNER NOT FOUND !"

1) The same parralel port works fine with my Zip Drive
2) The scanner works fine on my laptop

So the scanner is not faulty. I must have altered something in the BIOS

Any ideas where to start ???

Thanks

Have you made sure that you definately have the correct drivers?

It might be worth downloading the drivers that match your OS, run the setup program and choose to use the scanner using the parallel port

Ive had similar probs in the past, if its not that you may need to look at your BIOS settings again

The scanner works on my laptop with the same OS
I also use the same Drivers so I think it's definately the BIOS

Any other ideas ?

I've had this problem in the past as well... try changing the parallel port mode in the bios, try changing it to either EPP or ECP.

Cheers mate. already sorted it. You were right though. It was set to Normal, so I set it to EPP and its fine now.

thanks
