I keep getting the error 'scanner not found'. I have checked the connection, uninstalled and reinstalled the software, restarted the machine, etc. The software opens, and the scanner bulb is on, but when I try to scan, I get the error.
Thanks for the response. How do I check on WIA service? In control panel 'printers and scanners', my scanner software doesn't show. Having loaded it in 'add or remove', I can't get it to load through 'printers and scanners'. Connections are clean. Device manager had MacPhyter PCI adaptor inactivated, which I enabled. No help. By 'event viewer', do you mean in 'task manager'?
Try typing "event viewer" in the Help and Support program's Search Box, you should see a link to it that you can click on as well as some details. Event Viewer is not part of the Task Manager.
Try typing "Services.msc" in the Start Run box.
"In control panel 'printers and scanners', my scanner software doesn't show."
In my Control Panel I have "Printers and Fax" and another item called "Scanners and Cameras", but nothing called "Printers and Scanners".
Did you install the Scanner software by clicking on the supplied .exe, or running it from CD, or whatever media the manufacturer supplied, or did you just try to add the Scanner via the Add Hardware Wizard? In either case did you perform the install as an Administrator?
