Scanner is slow

I use an HP PSC 2300 to scan in documents. However, the software that came with the printer is very slow. The fax function is very quick, but I haven't figured out a way to save faxes as scanned docs to my hard drive. Is there some software or drivers that will scan individual documents more quickly?
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
Colour scan = slow.
B&W scan = fast.
Fax prolly uses B&W.
