I have installed a Canon N640P Scanner on my pc which has a Celeron 500 MHz cpu on a Asus mother board running Windows ME and when I run the scanner Canocraft software it comes up with an error "Unable to open TWAIN source".

What does this mean and how can I fix the problem?

Could have something to do with a BIOS setting??????

Is your scanner in the device manager??

If not, check the bios to be sure your usb ports are enabled.

If you detected the scanner it's not the bios.

I suggest you reinstall the scanners drivers and your software. "Make sure the drivers are made for win ME"

If still not working, i have no idea sorry

The most important thing to verify when you reinstall the scanner is that the drivers are fully compliant with Windows ME. If not, you might want to check the manufacturer's website for driver updates or patches...
