Hi,
I'm using Networker 5.5.3 on HP-UX 10.20 and 11.
Hardware :
Hp workstation 785/B2000
SCSI Interface Card A4976A (Fast Wide HVD)
Adic Faststor 7 slot jukebox (Quantum DLT 7000)
Everything runs fine as long as I want to restore something from online indexes. When I want to restore something which has past the browse and retention policy, I try to rebuild the indexes with the scanner-command, but I get the following messages
scanner : fn 3 rn 23 read error I/O error
scanner : fn 4 rn 0 read error Bad File Number
scanner : the following save sets continue on another volume, when next volume is ready, enter device name
1. There is no 'other volume' to continue on
2. I have this on al my tapes
3. In the meanwhile I get a reset on the SCSI-bus of my system.
4. I already installed all the HP-SCSI-related patches
When I try the scanner command with tapes which are still in the online indexes, I have the same problem : read error, although restoring data via the online indexes is no problem.
Can anyone help me on this topic ? Could it be I have a SCSI problem or is this rather a Networker bug or whatever.
Any advise is welcome
