After uninstalling Norton Utilities from my pc, which is running Windows98, I noticed that Scandisk is no longer performing it's routine disk error check & repair test when the pc is reset. If I run scandisk manually it tends to hang.
I understand that Norton Utilities takes over control of scandisk's functions when installed so I'm guessing that when I uninstalled NU it either took part of scandisk with it or left scandisk's settings changed in some way.
I'm a pc novice and haven't a clue how to fix this problem. If anyone has any ideas I'd be most grateful to hear them.
Cheers
