Scan via Access Form

I've a beast of a problem here. I want to be able to scan an image directly from an Access form but then scan and save the image with a predetermine name (it will get that from the same Access form) without further user intervetion!
All I can figure out at present is to get the scan application to open via a SHELL command.
I've noticed others have asked for this but there aren't any solutions posted yet?
ANY help is appreciated...
