Scan to email problem w/ Ricoh MP161

I hope I've posted this in the proper location. We have a Ricoh MP161 in one of our satellite offices, which is giving us some trouble with the scan to email function. They had been using the feature up until we moved offices, at which point we also upgraded firewalls (SonicWall). Now the feature no longer works. Specifically, when the user scans a document, it sends the email, but not the attachment.(helo, subject, everything but the body of the email can be traced as sent) We run Exchange 2003 on Windows SB 2003 Server.

Here is what we have tried to no avail:
Our exchange does not limit file size
Changing the attachment size on the printer
Adding them as a relay exception in exchange
MTU settings
Relayed to different SMTP address

We tried talking with the firewall company first because we still believe it is a firewall issue (probably in how we have it setup), but they were unable to diagnose the problem. Ricoh has also sent out a technician with no luck. Has anyone seen anything similar? Let me know if you need additional details. Your help and ideas are appreciated. Thanks.
