Does anyone know which ports Symantec AV Client uses to connect to network shares? I'm trying to block users from doing scans on their network shares.

thanks

The av client doesn't directly connect to the network server... it would pull the files down to the scanner the same way the user goes out and opens files off the network...

I'd disable the ability for them to do manual scans.. but thats just me

I'm in the process of doing so but there's over 300 clients that have to be configured on multiple AV servers.

hmmm I guess it all depends on your structure and how you have your groups setup..

we have 300+ clients on one server group.. if we change the server group settings at the root (for anti-virus) it filters down to everyone... assuming the servers are all under one server group. (and your groups aren't blocking the default group settings)
