I am using autocad ver14. I am trying to scale a drawing to 1/12 scale. When I scale the drawing the dimension lines and dimensions do not retain the correct dimension.
As an example, if I scale an object that is 12 feet long the drawing will scale but the arrow heads and text stay at the same size and the dimension is changed to 1. How do I correct this? I am a newbee to Autocad. Please bare with me.

Why would you want to scale a drawing? It is best to draw everything 1 to 1 then scale the title block or use the correct dimscale when inserting the block (drawing)

To Ratio:
I am transfering the drawing to Microstation for plotting and the person who is plotting said that I needed certain things and this was one of them. There is something between the two that is a difference of 12. Not sure what.

Thanks dsi. I will look into the variable.

Ahh, all you have to say is Microstation.. "the spear in the AutoCAD users side" ;-)

Just wanted to tell you that I got things working. I did not scale my drawing until I exported it to Microstation by first saving the dwg as Autocad ver 12. Once I done that I scaled it the 1/12th and it worked flawless. Thanks for the input.
Just another note: I still could not get it to scale right even though I was in Autocad. The measured distance and arrows would not scale properly. Maybe I will find a way to set it up.
