scaling a stroke

How do I keep the stroke weight the same when I scale down my object, at the moment when I am scaling down my stroke stays the same size and is to fat.

In your Transform palette click on the drop down menu and select 'Scale Strokes and Effects'.

You can also double-click in the scale tool in the toolbar pallette to bring up a dialog box where you can click "Scale Strokes and Effects".
