scale shown in corel 8 but not in 10?

Why is it when I type in text with my Corel 8 the tool bar shows the scale size of the letter, when I click on it. I can then go to the scale to change the height and width. But in the newer Corel 10 and 12 this scale is not visible unless I convert the text to curves.

You can add these by customising your workspace. Tools - customisation - commands - all and then choose any items you want to drag into your workspace. When you have a workspace you like it is worth saving it so you can go back to it should you need F8.

But I still cant get the scale to view when I create new text. I have to convert it to curves to get the scale height and width to view. I dont want to convert the text to curves to view the scale?

I think the scale can be added the same as size.
