Just adding a solution to the linked thread which has been closed and left unanswered.
There is a similar function in InDesign to the 'scale all function' found in Illustrator.
Object > Transform Again > Transform Again Individually
1. Scale one object
2. Select all remaining objects
3. Transform Again Individually
4. all the objects will be scaled but keep their original position
Seemed a good idea to answer this thread as it is top hit when searching for an answer and all previous comments are unhelpful nonsense
