Hi I am new to interbase and have experience in Sql Server v7.
I have a requirement to make sure that interbase can support in the long term approx 2,500 concurrent users.

I have not been able to search for correct information about the following.

How many concurrent users per database are supported based on a requirement that the average response time overall should be no more then 5-10 seconds.

What tool or approach outside of code is there to check for fault-tolerance , ie if one goes down then it will kick in to the other database.

If anyone can guide to the some information re these or similiar topics would be great.

The project I am working depends on these criteria .

Many Thanks for time spent in replying

HI neville1 -

I dont have info on specific numbers, but maybe worth checking out the case studies on the borland web site :

You may find that the server spec will effect things like response times. AS for the fault-tolerance, you may need to set up a test database and deliberately cause it to fail and see how Interbase copes.

Hope this helps..
