Hi, just got my sc 1000 today and on the display (towards the left second line down under the time display it flashes "ALARM"

I logged into the controller and it says at the top right, No alarm"

I busied out a set and then the console registered a "Minor Alarm" top line in the middle of the display.

Its like the SC1000 is having an alarm issue?

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Jim

Hi Jim,
I don't think that display on the console will go away until it "reads the alarm/s".
I think you press the function key and follow from there. Can't remember the steps off the top...
If the console won't let you do that then look in the COS for the console and allow the reading of alarms.

You can't believe anything you read... unless of course it's this.

Hi, ok this is kind of odd, If i hit function and then F7 for ALARM, it reports this:

P11996-MAR-23 10:15:00 Main Control power up!

if i hit F5 to cancel (not sure if i'm canceling being in this mode or the alarm, it won't clear.

Hit F0 for more, I *thought* there were no more errors as it would go blank, but I kept hitting the F0 key and it seem to be dumping a variety of alarm states, Ok read all logs and now there is no ALARM showing.

Odd as I viewed all alarms from the controller, but maybe these are informal entries, so logs should have been checked.

Ok all cleared and everything is AOK.

Thanks!!

Jim

No you are not canceling the alarm, you are canceling the function of reading the alarms.

The Alarm will still flash until all unread alarm entries have been viewed. That viewing can be through the console or through Maintenance using a terminal emulator.

If you did not take enough time to get it right the first time...

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

A Flashing Alarm is simply indicating that there are unread maintenance logs.

These are usually information only as the system alarm status has not been tripped.

Once they are read, from the SC1000 or a Maintenance console, then the flashing will stop.
