Customer was entering payables and another user was printing checks when the system had a hicup and all the files didn't get updated. I have indentified which files and what entries are missing and have entered them into there respective files. I have done this many time over the years but this time the reports are not reflecting the changes. I have re-index and recalulated the application files but the reports are still not showing the new entries that I entered into the database file manually.

Does anybody have any idea on what could be causing this.

The APMAST files have two sets of money fields. If I remember right one starts with a B and the other is just regular. Example adjamt and badjamt. SBT gives the B fields primary value.

PCNerds,

Records you entered in files are not shown in reports because you forgot to update one more datafile: SYUSESS.

SyUsess controls open and closed user sessions. Open sessions are not included in reports. It is probably you find an AP session that is still open, that session could be related to the interrupted printing checks session, verify date and time to confirm. If you find it, put a C on the status field and make sure the session# is the same to the records you added manually.

If you don't, add a new record, take the next session number from the SYSDATA datafile and put it in SYUSESS->status field and a_APDIST->apsess field as well.

Hope it helps you buddy.

I don't think the SysUsess file would have worked that way in 5.0 which is about a 1988 edition that is still in code rather then screens for the most part. I've never noticed that effect even in 7.1.
