Hi all,
i am running SBT PRO 5.0 on win 7 and win 10, in windows 7, it never shows the message "THE TEMPORARY DATA DIRECTORY IS NOT ACCESSIBLE.(C:\USERS\USERNAME\APPDATA\LOCALTEMP) THE SYSTEM DATA DIRECTORY WILL BE USED FOR TEMPORARY FILES.(S:\PRO50)
BUT IN WINDOWS 10 it always popup this message before the login screen, does anyone knows, if it is possible to avoid this message ? thanks a lot in advance

Note by the way i have the user in win 10 to have full access rights to the temp folder on the c:\users\....

Hi,
I am no sure about Win 10, but:
You need to specify where SBT temp files will reside.
2 ways:
1 - My computer , system properties, environment variables
Environment_variables_uknghp.png

This will override no.2

2- System Manager, Maintain, Set up, System installation, Click on "Path"

Make sure users have full rights to folder. Method 1 will override method 2

Hope this helps or gives you some idea.

The second method is more global and applies to all users.

The first method env. variable to a local c-drive folder.
variable:
SBTTMP to c:\temp

Local temp folder makes SBT faster.

Hi Edgar,
The first method env. variable to a local c-drive folder.
variable:
SBTTMP to c:\temp

Local temp folder makes SBT faster.

this work for me in windows 7 but in 10 it does not even care where the temp file is located
it still look C:\USERS\USERNAME\APPDATA\LOCAL\TEMP), otherwise it popup the message, i also did the change in the path even telling that the temp file was located in c:\temp, in the second option you told

Thanks a lot
Ernesto

Do you have a c:\temp folder ?
login as administrator, see if you get same message.
This was the same problem i had at a customer site ( win 7). Giving full rights to user folder resolved the problem.
