SBS2k3 R2 - Updates and Service pack Confusion Please HELP!!!

Ok, so I'm confused on what service packs are required during the install of SBS2003 R2 Premium !!!

While working through the CEICW during the initial install you are required to install all the Updates and then microsoft sends you to a page that calls for "SP1" and repeatedly advises that "SP1" must be installed before installing the R2 Technologies and Premium disks etc...

Could somebody please set me straight on what is going on - I thought R2 *already included* SP1?

The ms documentation is *totally* confusing.

The r2 bits are installed from the final cd of the set, install all CD's If you didn't put a cd in during the normal install stick it in afterwards and install what comes up.. from memory R2 technologies is cd7 there are a few things on there to install.
