Hello,

We have a SBS2003 Domain Controller.

We want to buy a second Windows 2003 Standard server. We are going to add this server as a second Domain Controller in the SBS2003 Domain.

Is it possible to have AD replication to the second server that we are adding, with Windows 2003 Standard OS? (Is it possible if the second server is SBS2003 as well?).

Thanks for your help.

Yes you can add another W2K3 server as an additional DC in an SBS environment, but it cannot hold any of the FSMO roles and it cannot be another SBS server, must be one of standard or enterprise editions.

Thanks for your help.

We want to use Replication software with the second domain controller. Is it possible to use AD replication with an SBS2003 server and a second domain controller?(With either win 2003 stand or sbs2003?). Thanks.

You can have as many DCs as you want, and they'll replicate AD automatically.

If you want to replicate data, look into DFS. It's built into Windows Server.
