SBS2003 exchage stopped With error C104173b

Realy stuck with this one. For some reason our exchange server has stopped working. If we try and get our mail via outlook it just says the exchange server is unavalable. If i try OWA i get the username and password screen but then an error message of HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable.
I have looked in
Server Management.
>Exchange
>Server name
>First storage Group
Both the Mail store and Public Folder store have red arrow on them.
I have tryed to remount both but I get the same error message The Data Base file in the store is corrupt Error C104173b.

Can anyone please help

You are going to have to get familiar with ESEUTIL, and probably ISINTEG.


What were the circumstances around Exchange stopping working? When was your last good Exchange-aware backup? Chances are good for recovery with ESEUTIL, but there's a bit of a learning curve.

Thanks for that. I will have a read. The SBS is new install so there were only a few E-mail's on it. I do not mind loosing the info within Exchange if I can just get it back up and running. Is there an easyer way?

Thanks for the input. I have run the util as you have suggested but still no look. The eseutil did say that it had repaired 225 errors.

I have tryed to reboot the server. But I unable to mount the Mail Box Store. If I try and access OWA I am still prompted for my user name and password. Then I receive the error message "HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable" Outlook 2003 replies with error 0x8004011d. Server is not avalable.

As I mentioned before this is a new install, so there is very little info on the server. I am at the point of doing a fresh install, can you shed any more light on the problem PLEASE.
