I have a computer which was upgraded recently from XP Home to XP Pro. The
upgrade went sucessfully with no problems.
I have added the user and computer using the respective wizards from the
Server Management in SBS 2003.
However, when I try to connectcomputer on the XP Pro workstation it returns
an error that the users folder in documents and settings has been set to
private on the sharing and security tab. Upon inspection the private
checkbox is not checked, so I checked it, and immediately unchecked it and
clicked apply to make sure that nothing in his profile folder under documents
and settings was set to private.
I re-ran the connect computer wizard, but I still receive the same error.
I would rather not manually join this workstation, but if I have to how can
I migrate the user's profile to the new domain based profile including file
permissions and settings?
This computer has a wireless nic on it as well, which I had disabled during
the connectcomputer. The ipconfig looked normal and was issued by the SBS
server normally with the correct DNS as the IP of the SBS server.
Please advise on how to get the automatic profile migration to work with the
connect computer wizard.
Thanks!
