SBS2003 Backup Behavior Changing After SP1

We applied SP1 to our SBS2003 server on 8/1.
Since then the SBS default Full Backups have increased in size over 50%. Our information store is on Drive D:

A review of the backup logs shows:
Pre -SP1, Backup = C:, D:, System State = 13Gig
Post-SP1, Backup = C:, D:, \Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group, System State = 20 Gig

The default backup configuration seems to be backing up the information store twice.

Does anyone know if this is really necessary?

Is it backing up the sotre twice or do you have a bunch of transaction logs in there?

Just a few logs: E00.log, E00TMP.Log, E0001647.log.
It appears to be backing up the store twice.
1st time when it backs up drive D:
2nd time when it backs up "First Storage Group"

Ok. So I looked at the command line argument used by the backup scheduler.

Here is the command line
ntbackup.exe backup "@C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Backup\Small Business Backup Script.bks" /d "SBS Backup created on 8/6/2005 at 5:56 AM" /v:yes /r:no /rs:no /hcff /m normal /j "Small Business Server Backup Job" /l:s /f "D:\Backup\Backup Files\Small Business Server Backup (01).bkf" /UM

The command line was the same both before and after the SP1 upgrade. The diference is in the contents of the parameter file "Small Business Backup Script.bks"

Prior to the upgrade to SP1 this parameter file contained

SystemState
C:\
D:\
D:\Backup\Backup Files\ /Exclude

After SP1 this parameter file contains the following
SystemState

C:\
D:\
D:\Backup\Backup Files\ /Exclude
JET MONTANA\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group\

I would appear
1. I can remove the D:\ reference since it's getting picked up via the last line.
2. The pre-SP1 backups may not have been robust SBS Exchange backups.
