Having an issues with the connection to the internet on a new SBS box

Background
Had an SBS 2003 running with one NIC connected to a router (dhcp on server) with no issues.

Upgraded to new Dell 2900 with dual NIC
Connected modem (speadstream 5100) to network nic and 24 port switch to second nic

No matter what I do the connect is spotty I have tried to have the pppoe on the server, on the modem with private ip to server, on the modem with public ip to server.

I have built the server twice but still no luck

I am going to built it one more time but would like suggestions for the very best setup.

(BTW I this server runs at my house so I do play alot of xbox 360 thru the connection)

Thank you

This probably isn't helpful, but I only deploy single-NIC solutions and put some non-ISA firewall in front of the server. Usually SonicWall or Watchguard FireBox. For my home network, which also has an SBS and other servers, I just use the LinkSys broadband router as a firewall.

I was thinking of that, just checking to see what others are doing.

? In you home network do you have a xbox 360? If so are you able to get the media center to read the media files stored on sbs?

I'm with ShackDaddy. I usually don't use ISA on a server that is also some other role (in this case, SBS). Most of the SBS installations I've done have either a SonicWall or Netgear firewall in front of them.

In my home lab, I have an assortment of Netgear, SonicWall, ISA, Pix, and ASA boxes. My "favorite" changes with the phases of the moon... :)
