Can anyone tell me the meaning of the following event log errors:

Event ID 12050
POP3: Failed to check the POP3 account for sec6 at host
mail.mydomain.com on port 110. The error is 11002

This is immediately followed by:
Event ID 12051
POP3: An error occurred. Cannot connect to the mail.mydomain.com POP3
host for user sec6. The error is 11002

This is happening for each of my POP3 user accounts that are specified
in the POP3 Connector User dialog. When it happens, it happens to all
accounts at the same time. However, it does not happen every time it
checks (every 15 minutes). There were no Internet connectivity issues
today--we have a DSL connection and it did not drop and no other
errors were reported. Nothing changed on the mailboxes. It did this
during the morning hours but then worked fine all afternoon.

I checked EventID.net and found the Event ID but not this specific
error. Also nothing in the Microsoft KB. The meaning of 11002 is
important!

If you know the reason/fix for this, please let me know!

I believe error 11002 is "Non-Authorative host not found."

Could be that the fqdn for the mail server isn't spelled correctly.

Also, if your mail host required secure password authentication, the pop3 connector won't work.

Daniel.
