SBS 2008 – Retail License – Virtualization

I have SBS 2008 standard install and when I run slmgr /dlv then it says I have Retail Channel license. If I virtualize this server then will I come across any activation issue?

No, you shouldn't. I don't believe that the activation module cares whether the OS is virtualized or not.

Usually when hardware changes detected then window activation kicks in and that happens with OEM license.

Mime sbs 2008 says it is Retail channel license then is this different then OEM licence?

I don't know the answer off-hand, but whatever ends up happening after you virtualize, you could probably resolve it by referencing this:
