I have two XP Pro workstations that were added to a new SBS 2003 domain. This was completed during the morning hours. Later that night one of the Win XP machines was no longer available via remote desktop connection. By the next morning the other machine was not reachable via remote desktop connection.

Is this a computer policy issue on the server? In looking at the firewall settings on the XP machines the options are now grayed out. I do not know if they were before as this is a new client for me and I did not configure the XP machines.

Well with a little searching I found the Domain policies for computer management that were locking down the Remote Desktop feature on the workstations.

Great, that was a quick fix!
In the future you can use the gpresult command from the client to see a list which policies are being applied.
