Hi

I'm currently setting up a SBS 2003 premium server. I need to setup outgoing smtp authentication. I have configured the SMTP connector properties with the mail server name and selected basic authentication. (as user I only enter the user name not the complete email address) I'm still unable to send emails. they seem to be stuck in the queue and there are no event log messages that indicates the issue. Is there any logging capabilities that indicates why the emails are not send.

When selecting a different mail server without authentication it sends the emails ok.

Am i missing anything else to get the smtp authentication going???

Any help is very much appreciated

outbound SMTP needs to be anonymous unless you're communicating with a SPECIFIC recipient server that REQUIRES authentication.

Hi

I agree unfortunately the mail server is a smarthost (other than my isp) that requires authentication to send email.
