Has anyone been through the following scenario?

A complete hardware failure has occured on the server running sbs 2003. The only backup available is that of the exchange database. What must been done to restore the database to the new server?

Thanks for reading

Give the domain and Exchange site the same name as before. Create your users first so you have users to reconnect mailboxes to. Immediately make an ASR backup.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Hi Mark

Thank you very much for your swift reply. I had visions that this scenario would be a nightmare bcause of different guids, sids etc etc. Thanks for setting me straight on this one.

Cheers

Martin

Should not be that much of nightmare, but you will need to reconnect the mailboxes manually.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
