sbs 2003 recovery can't access temp directory

Hi folks
Running SBS 2003, after a Hd failed I replaced it with a new one and recovered from backup. Unfortunately client decided it wasn't worth his while to backup temp files and directory due to lack of space, so they weren't on the backup. Now he requires these files and although they were mirrored on another HD these files are inaccessible. Any ideas how I could access them?
