sbs 2003 reconfigure to "like new"? 1

I have a server currently running sbs 2003. However, it is the remnant ofan old company which we "inheirited." I basically want to start over, but dont want to uninstall and reinstall the whole OS. The network is essentially all set up, but I want to change the name of the network, and so forth, and it just seemed like it would be easier to start over. I have already removed all of the previous client computers, and user names (except mine, obviously). I guess I just want to know if it is possible to just re-run some wizards, or what I need to do. Like I said, the network is set up, but the names are all pertaining to the previous company. ie- the domain names, etc are all named for the old company like: "oldcompanyname.local", etc. I am obviously not an expert at this, and I usually learn "on the fly"; however, it seems that might cause more headaches down the road....any help would be greatly appreciated. Next week we have another server coming in to run our electronic medical records system, so I would really like to have the existing network all set up prior to that installation

Hi,

Unfortunately, you can't rename a SBS server. If you do, many things will 'break'. The ONLY way to rename the domain/server name etc is to flatten and rebuild. This is one of the reasons MS suggest 'smallbusiness.local etc as the domain name.

i thought so....by flatten/rebuild, do you mean just reinstall the whole OS, and start over?
