Hello everyone, hope you're all well

I have an SBS/NTBackup issue with a client

SBS2003 has been backing up to an LTO-2 drive quite happily for a few years, the drive eventually failed ( assisted by a cup of coffee ) so a new drive was purchased. SAS based Quantum LTO-3 and card.

The SBS backup was running perfectly for about 3 days, now every backup ( automated or manual ) fails with an error " the job failed on a request to read or write media "

I downloaded a trial version of Yosemite backup, and this flew through the backup without any issues

my customer doesn't want to shell out for backup software as SBS is pitched as a complete solution

The Yosmite uses VSS so it's not that

The drive is on the latest firmware and passes all quantum diagnostics

The driver is the latest driver

Any ideas gratefully received - I'd like to retain some hair uf possible )

Many thanks in advance

Mark

a driver that MS thought was an 'update', wasn't
