OK, this is a problem that seems to crop up again and again, but I've yet to see a satisfactory answer.
We have SBS2000 server, and exclusively Win2KPro clients (so nice and straightforward). We used to have our VPN through a Cobalt Qube 3 when we had SBS 4.5 and it worked fine, but then we upgraded to SBS 2K and installed ISA server, so ditched the Qube.
Now, however, whilst all clients can connect OK, none of them can view any resources through 'Network Places' or Active Directory when remote accessing (we could when we had the Qube). I understand that for this to be possible, you must have WINS server installed - we do.
'ipconfig /all' shows that the WINS server is correctly addressed and registered. Pinging the server using ip address and network name works fine. You can 'net view //server' fine, and you can map network drives OK if you know the share name. You can do everything, in fact, except see the resources on the domain. 'net view /DOMAIN:domainname' does not work, and neither just just plain 'net view'. Even if you specify the WINS server in the TCP/IP properties of the VPN connection setup, it still doesn't work. The DNS server is set to defer to WINS on lookup failure. NetBIOS is enabled on the server.

So basically, I'm at a loss - if anyone can shed some light on this one, I'd be really grateful.

I would be interested to know how to solve this sort of issue too.
