Hi,

I am working with an Avaya SBCE 8.1.3 RHEL 7.9 Maipo.
We're trying to turn up a sip trunk to a new carrier.
I've been given a /31 network. has anyone done this before
on an Avaya SBC? RFC 3021 does not show as supported and I
don't think manually manipulating the config file of the interface
is a good idea.
thanks in advance

You can't use a /31 - there's only 2 IPs - the network number and the broadcast

It sounds like something trickled down from your provider to you. Like, provider says the network is 192.168.1.128/31 implying their IP is .129 and your IP is .130 but you have a real mask - like a /30 on your side to use the 2 valid IPs in 192.168.1.128/30

Does that make any sense?

Kyle555,

Thanks for the reply. I know it's possible.
I've attached a redhat document that speaks to it.
BUT, I think Avaya SBC application doesn't support RFC3021.
Hoping someone on the forum had experience with it.
I do have a ticket open with Avaya to verify support and
I've requested a /30 network from our vendor.

thanks
Bob
