my sb128 pci soundcard doesn't work in Win98.
I installed the latest drivers without any problems.
But if i want to start an audio file i am given an error message: the souncard device is already in use by another program.
I'ver checked my irq settings: they are all used.
my soundcard is on the same irq as my networkcard.
Could that be the problem? What can I do about it?
Or is sth else wrong?

To separate IRQ's:
An easy way is to go into control panel, system, device manager, system devices, PCI bus, Properties, IRQ steering tab, and uncheck all except "Get IRQ table using MS spec...".
Restart.
If you find that your NIC doesn't work after this, then:
Re-enable the "Get IRQ table using ACPI BIOS".
Boot to safe mode.
Remove the offending device(s) from device manager.
Restart, in BIOS setup, disable com 2, set "PnP OS" to NO, restart, reinstall.
Cheers,
Jim
