says my winsrvc.exe is missing

friends computer no longer can run taskbar ro programs/// says she is missing the WINSRVC.exe file
what is that and what could be happeningt o her puter?

She has the w95.navidad worm (virus) on her machine. Suggest you surf to symantec.com and get to the virus encyclopedia and look up the repair. Requires one file rename , two registry corrections, and one file deletion.
Will be better if you have the full removal steps in print before you start.
