Hi,

Using Option 11 24.25 with meridian mail (can't remember the revision off hand) and have been asked if I can copy off some voicemails left on a certain DN for evidence in a disciplinary, but I can't think of any 'easy' way to do it.

Is there some kind of serial interface I can use to Meridian Mail (I am familiar with the basic command set - setting up DN's, Cos assignments, etc) that may enable me to copy the data to the flash card - or even better, onto a laptop, and if so - is there a codec available that could 'play back' the voicemail in digital format ???

Any help much appreciated!
Cheers,
Paul

Hey Paul the only way that you would be able to save to voicemail messages from your MerMail system is to attach a external tape drive to the Merdian Mail SCSI port and go into MerMail and perform a backup. I use a Tanberg SLR5 tape drive to perform my backups. This is the only that I know of to backup your messages.

if you have a softphone software you can record mess to that, i use the recorder that comes with windows to record my menu services, but it is a hassle, you have to atdt the mail+ #+password..you get the picture, use enough ,,,,,, to delay while you record.. it works but it is a little tricky
