hello all,

we just discovered our 87XX is not saving tranlations every night to the PCMCIA Flash and FTP automatically. I can manually execute the save to flash and save to ftp, but for some reason this is not doing it automatically.
I have a ticket with avaya, but as per my earlier post, they can't dial in.

thx

That setting on system-paramters does not save the translations to the flash cards. That only writes the translations from volatile memory to the S8XXX hard drives. You must schedule backups to the flashcards from the web interface. Go to maintenance and then click on backup npow.

What servers and version of software are you running. I just had to get a patch for my S8710's running 3.0.1. to fix my backup problems.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

Thanks all..

S8700, ver 3.12.

Yes, we have that in sys maint parameters. It is also in web interface as a backup set to save to PCMCIA.
I also have full backup and 3 the other sets saved via FTP.
It works when i "run now" in the web interface. Problem is that it is not happening automatically..

thx

We are also having this problem with one of our customers. They are running 3.1.1. This was a known issue in 3.0.x with different symptoms. I am not sure that it is a known issue with 3.1.x but seems to be. PCN1523bu will get the 3.1.4 disk for free and if you upgrade you system it should fix it. This is going to be our suggestion. A word to the wise. Avaya's new patch olicy will not allow them to create NEW patches for anything before 4.0. If there is an issue with your system and there is no current patch for it then the fix from avaya will be to upgrade. Just an FYI before you spend 600/hr for tyhem to tell you the same.
