Can someone please help me I have a data base in access 97. I need to save to a floppy to install into a new computer. The problem is the data is too large for the floppy. Can someone tell me how to do this.
Thanks
Denise

Denise,

Try compacting the database

While in the db window.....Tools, Database Utilities, Compact database

If still too big then you need to use a compression utility e.g. Winzip

If you don't have winzip you can get a trial copy from

Denise0714,
Are the computers on a network?
If not, do the computers have access to the internet?
If the computers are on a network, then you don't need a floppy, since you can just save the file somewhere on the network (a public folder, for example) and then when the new computer is up, you can retrieve the file off the network for it.
If there is no network, but the computers have access to the internet, then you can e-mail the file to yourself (or join something like x-drive... and effectively do the same thing.
If you have access to the internet, you should never have to use floppies for anything again.
Hope it helps.
