Saving to excel with a password in SAS

Is it possible without DDE, to export a data set to Excel with a password? Is ODS capable?

I don't think so. Using the DDE approach should work. All you need is an Excel template. Have SAS write out data in CSV format and force the DDE to save in Excel format using the BASIC commands that excel recognizes.
