Saving to a VFP Date field from ASP

I seem to be able to present dates from my VFP data on a web form; but when I go to save my form values back to my VFP component, it fails on the date fields.

Here's a example where I attempt to save a date back to my component:

ors.oRecord.AVAILDATE = CDate(Request.Form("txtAVAILDATE"))

Can anyone help me to better understand how VBScript handles dates?

I'm not sure. The question has to do with how VBScript interacts with VFP date fields. That's why I posted it here. I'm hoping to find users of this forum who have dealt with VFP date fields via ASP.
