Morning
Whenever I add a report to Business Objects Enterprise server from my desktop, I have to go into the Central Management Console and add the database password, even though I ran the report on my desktop before adding. Is there a way to have BOE retain the password of the report?
Thanks

Once you upload the report to the server, click on the Process tab, and then the click on database, you can enter the password there, and then at the bottom select the radial button use same database logon as when report is run, and then update.

Thanks CRoompa - that is the process I have to go through, but trying to find some way to eliminate this step. I'm opening, modifying, saving reports all day on BOE, and sometimes I forget to go to the CMC to add password; then none of the users can access the report.

Hi,
In the report options page in the CMC, you can specify that you do not want the database/password to be changed when the report is republished after mods..

Not sure of the exact location as I do not have BOE running here..

I will see if that helps us also. We have the issue with the password 'disappering' after a mod sometimes. Our administrator could not find reason for the password to go away.

Hi,
Yes, by BOE design, any direct mod to a published report ( opening from CR and saving it back, instead of using the publishing wizard) will blank out the password that was previously saved..The option I mentioned is the only solution that I have found.
