Saving Pics from Internet

To All,
Am using Win 2000 and IE 6.0.26 and am hooked up to Comcast internet cable. I have asked them this question and they are clueless.
When I am on the internet and want to save a picture and I know it is a jpg, when I right click and go to Save As it will only let me Save As a bmp. How do I change that?
