When I save an attachment I right click, save as, and the window where I browse to where I want to save this comes up. It takes FOREVER to browse to the desired location. Well not literally but it does take a minute to change one directory up or down, then another minute to change directories, etc.

So what ought to be very quick is taking 3-4 minutes.

When I open windows explorer to browse, I do not experience any delays, but when I browse to a save file location, it takes forever.

The exact same save dialog from other applications - Adobe, MS office, crystal reports - also works fast as expected.

Any ideas what is causing this? This just started happening 3 days ago.

The most common reason for this behaviour is having drives or mapped folders or network shares which are not currently available. Try disconnecting all unavailable shares and removing inaccessible drive mappings.

For whatever reason Outlook seems to try to enable these when browsing to a new folder, and only proceeds once they time out.
