Hey,
Has anyone figured out how to save files off Micros Autosequences & Reports? Short of printing them off and scanning them back into the computer as a file, is there a way to print a report and save it to your desktop as a PDF or any other file.
Create a folder on one of your drives...i use the data drive D:\Micros_Reports is what i call my folder
In that folder i make new folders for the reports ai want to save; Credit_Card, Sales, Payroll_Reports, Sales_Detail, etc
In POSCONFIG find the report that is currently printing to paper when running an autosequence
In the "Print to disk Filename" box input D:\Micros_Reports\Sales\Sales.doc
I used the parameters i have...you may have to adjust for your system and naming.
The last thing that runs on my end of night is a script to rename all my files to dated files so "Sales.doc" would become "10-3-12_Sales.doc" so its all neat and tidy. Auto sequences i can only save in doc format. I use Transaction Anaylzer to print some daily reports like voids, discounts etc and these can be saved in the preffered pdf format.
Once a day all the reports on the harddrive are back up to exterbnal locations.
At the end of night several reports get emailed out to the managers and bookeepers that need to see tehm
Hope this helps.
Masch78. Search posts by DrZogg. He posted one that outlines the steps to create external programs and report steps that will dump your report to pdf files. I've used it in a all my new openings and it really helps, especially with Avero and their P.I.T.A. report validations.
