I would like to save the current kernel parameters
in an ascii file to send out in an email.
I think there is way to do this
without running sam but I can't rember how.

Thanks in advance,

Hello there
The current Kernel Parameters are already saved in a file called system, in the /stand directory.
Check this and you will find all the Kernel Modules included in the Kernel, and all the values to the parameter which have changed, i.e. not the default values.
If you want to gain a list of all the values and their meanings you can obtain a print from sam, by going into sam -> Kernel Configuration -> Tuneable parameters, and then from the file option select print to file.
Best of luck

/stand/system

Exactly what I was looking for.
I am going to have a script read this file.

Thanks,

I will suggest not to mess with /stand/system file.

#kmtune -l /stand/system > /home/patel/kernal.list

will gives you long list of all tunable parameter in file.
