Hello,

We are currently have a problem saving HTML messages to our network in an efficiant manner.

Our company policy is to save all email from our customers to the network. With plain text messages it is a snap. Just click "File", "Save As" and you can save it as a .doc.

When we try this with an HTML message there are three files to save. 1. The Message: which only contains the To, From, Subject and date. 2. The Text: which only contains the text from the message 3. The MIME file: which has everything but is a mess because all of the HTML formatting is in the way of the message.

Is there a way to save the message with the to/from info included? It does not have to be a .doc. HTML format would be fine is that is the way to save it. Currently our users have to forward or reply each message to themselves to recieve it as plain text and then save it.

Any ideas would be apprieciated.

Thanks,

How about just archiving the message to the network? Plus, using archiving would allow you to do this automatically. Just a thought.

FarOut,

Thanks for the suggestion but that will not fit for what we want to do. The reason that we save those messages to the network is not only for historical info but also to be referanced by everyone in our company. If they are archived I believe only the person who archived can retrieve them.

Does anyone save their email messages to the network?

If you mean by saving do we archive to the network, then yes we do. Each user has a <HOME> directory for business/personal use. We long ago found this to be the best way because of users PC's getting replaced. And of course their local archives went with it. Not to mention this insures that a backup of their archive is done automatically to the SAN.
