Ok I know that just converting to greyscale is the lazy way and doesn't give the best results but I just wanted to convert a number of files and do some experimental work on a collage. But I've found that PSP won't save the file once I've converted it. I'm saving as JPEG. I don't have problems with any other sort of save including after splitting to RGB (nicer greyscale!)

Does anyone else have this problem?

What version of PSP are you using?
Are you using the Export feature to Jpeg, or just Save As?

I can gray scale an image and just click on the Save icon on the tool bar and it will save it as gray scale.

I'm using PSP X1 (see my signature :) ). I am using save as, I don't want to overwrite my original file. If I use channel mixer or split to RGB it will save fine. Someone suggested that it's something to do with RGB. I can't find how to change it back to RGB though.

Ok, I've fixed this problem by using channel mixer rather than converting to greyscale. (Was a lazy way to do it anyway... :) )
