Hi. I am wondering if there is a setting or something that will allow me to paste a file name into the Save As box? Other people are telling me they can do it, but when I right click nothing happens.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you! It worked! My job requires that I save file names exactly how an audio file is saved and they've been on me about copying and pasting the names, but I could never figure out how to do it in Word. Thanks again!

There are a few dialog boxes that only the keyboard commands will work for Cut/Copy/Paste. A common example is the Find/Replace dialog where you can copy a string from a document using the mouse or toolbar button as normal, but you have to use Ctrl+V to Paste into the Find or Replace boxes.

It's one of themain reasons I now intuitively use the keyboard for those actions.

Or, of course, SHIFT+INS (one of the key combinations that preceded Microsoft's urge to be more Mac-like)
