Hi,
I want to save/store my GW emails (together with the attachments) on disk. To manage them together with other (project related) files.
When I use the "Save as.." I get a file on disk with extension ".mlm". The attachments are saved on the same level, i.e. you can't see whether it be attachments nor with which mail they belong.
How can I open a .mlm file? Can I restore it in GroupWise?

Thanks in advance,
Henk Stijnen

I believe that the .MLM format stems back from when Novell owned WordPerfect, and as such they are based on WordPerfect 5.1. You should be able to open them with Word, WordPerfect, or any other program capable of dealing with a WP5.1 formatted file.

Henk,

Larry has your answer on opening the MLM files. As far as managing the e-mails with attachments with other project files, you can archive or "Hit the Road" and create a remote DB of your mail box. Only the GroupWise client will be able to open this. You can save the MLM files (you can also save them as stright text), and then save attachments in an organized directory or file naming structure.

Now I am not sure, but I think the Outlook client can save an e-mail to an independant file with the attachment with in the file. However, you are still using Outlook to open this. I just have this iching feeling I have seen somthing like that around before (don't deal with M$ stuff very much). Well, you can use Outlook as a client to GroupWise. This may acomplish what your looking for. Brent Schmidt CNE, Network +
