saving email

As some of you know from the past. I have a rather large mailbox 9.7 GB (not database) 1 mailbox. This mailbox saves all the company's email, both in and out. I am unsure how it was setup (question #1). But once I get it removed from the server as a/several PSTs, I need to re-create the mailbox as a PST (question #2). Essentially, auto-archiving the mail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
